Everyone’s Obsessed With AI. The Real Opportunity Might Be Human.

Everyone is talking about AI. And for good reason.

Use it.

Use it to work faster. Research faster. Generate ideas. Edit. Learn new skills. Remove repetitive work. Become better at what you do.

But while everyone is focused on what AI can replace, there’s another opportunity growing right alongside it.

Being human.

And when it comes to content, that still matters.

Australian consumers are already telling us this. Ipsos’ 2025 AI Monitor found 73% of Australians surveyed preferred human-driven advertising content, compared with just 13% who preferred AI-driven advertising.

Even advertisers themselves aren’t completely sold on replacing humans. IAB’s 2025 creator research found 95% of advertisers had concerns about using AI in creator marketing, with loss of human connection their biggest concern.

So yes — learn AI.

Just don’t forget to learn how to create something another human actually wants to watch.

Content creation is becoming a real commercial skill.

This isn’t only about becoming an influencer.

At the time of writing, SEEK lists more than 1,400 Content Creator jobs across Australia, with employers looking for skills including TikTok, social media, content creation, Instagram, editing, storytelling, photography and video.

Broaden that to content and social media and there are more than 3,000 Australian roles advertised.

Businesses need people who know how to communicate in the way modern audiences actually consume information.

That creates options.

Content creation can strengthen the career you already have.

It can help you move into a new one.

It can become freelance income.

A side business.

A personal brand.

Or something you eventually build full-time.

And compared with many businesses, the barrier to starting is incredibly low.

A phone. An idea. A skill you keep getting better at.

The money is moving towards content.

Australia’s internet advertising market reached $18.4 billion in 2025, up 11.5% in a single year.

But here’s the interesting part.

Video advertising grew even faster — 19.8% to $5.4 billion — with social video increasing its share of total video expenditure.

Globally, the creator economy is moving even faster.

IAB reported creator advertising spend reached $37 billion in 2025 and is projected to hit $44 billion in 2026. Nearly half of creator-ad buyers now describe creators as a “must buy.”

This is no longer just about internet fame.

It’s about learning how to turn attention into something commercially valuable.

You can figure it out alone. But why would you?

There is more free information available than ever before.

The problem isn’t finding another tutorial.

It’s knowing what matters, where the opportunities are, what brands actually want and what you should do next.

That’s where having the right people around you matters.

People creating alongside you.

People sharing opportunities.

People you can collaborate with.

People with commercial knowledge.

People who push you to actually do the thing you’ve been thinking about doing.

AI will change careers.

Platforms will change.

Trends will change.

But businesses will always pay people who can capture attention, build trust and make other people act.

That’s a skill worth building.
